Three New Clients: One Common Goal

Oliver Russell recently picked up branding, food packaging, and web redesign assignments from three interesting companies. While all three are vastly different, they share a common thread—trying to operate in ways that are beneficial to our planet. One is an international social enterprise helping small businesses incorporate giving into their everyday operations. Another is a natural foods and beverage startup that wants to become a Certified B Corporation and resurrect a brand. The last is a large, multi-national corporation highly regarded for its corporate social responsibility.
Our newest client, B1G1, occasionally requires some late evenings and early mornings—after-hour conference calls for us and early mornings for them, as their headquarters is fourteen time zones away in Singapore.
B1G1, founded in 2006, was one of the forerunners of the Buy One Give One movement (that’s what its name stands for). B1G1 operates an online giving platform for an international community of small and medium-sized businesses. It’s a social enterprise that helps these businesses integrate giving and a sense of purpose into their everyday operations by facilitating donations to qualified NGOs around the globe.
As they grow and expand internationally, B1G1 has hired us to help with their brand strategy and redesign of their website.
B1G1’s founder, Masami Sato, is a real gem—powerful and peaceful all in the same package. You can get a sense of what she stands for and learn more about B1G1 by reading a Change Maker interview we conducted with her last year.
We’ve also been hired by the new owners of the brand formerly known as Trinity Springs, a natural mineral supplement product birthed from one of the world’s deepest geothermal springs high in the Idaho Mountains. The supplement gained near-mythical status during the late ‘90s and early 2000’s after it became a bestseller for natural food retailers around the country.
The brand, however, fell on hard times amidst shareholder lawsuits and bankruptcy and hasn’t been on retailer shelves in years. The new owners, who are committed to becoming a Certified B Corporation, have hired us for our experience in the consumer packaged spring water category (see Starkey Springs) and because they felt aligned with our company’s values. Stay tuned for good things to come…
Sodexo is an international food services company that’s widely acknowledged as a top performer for its corporate social responsibility. Our new clients at Sodexo hired us for our experience in branding, new product launches, and food packaging.
Our first assignment was to brand and design food packaging for a new line of branded snack bars and cookies Sodexo offers under its Mindful cafeteria concept. We’re also helping brand a new pop-up concept Sodexo will be testing with students across college campuses. Additionally, we received a commission to develop a new brand for a high-end restaurant that will launch at selected client locations. The new brand, unlike anything Sodexo has offered in this country, will be based on modern food culture and feature creative menu offerings handcrafted from locally sourced food.
Check out some of the cool work we’ve done for other purpose-driven clients.
